Energy Transfer Seeks Data Analytics Powerhouse for Operational Excellence!

Do you thrive on tackling complex challenges in the energy sector? Energy Transfer is seeking a talented and driven Senior Specialist to join our Operational Data Analytics team!

In this role, you'll be a key player in:

Revolutionizing our data landscape: Implement and support our corporate data historian environment, empowering data-driven decision making. Optimizing operations: Develop and implement optimization solutions to streamline Energy Transfer's processes, maximizing efficiency. Becoming the data guru: As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the system, you'll provide expert knowledge and guidance, ensuring optimal system utilization. Bridging the data-operations gap: Partnering closely with our Operations groups, you'll translate business challenges into actionable insights using historian and analytics software.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Become the historian software guru: You'll design solutions, install, and configure historian software for both new and existing facilities, ensuring its smooth operation. Subject Matter Expert (SME) on deck: As the go-to person for the system, you'll provide expert knowledge and guidance to the team. Bridging the gap between Operations and Data: Partnering closely with Energy Transfer's Operations groups, you'll translate business challenges into data-driven solutions using historian and analytics software. Innovation champion: Your drive for improvement will lead the way in proposing and implementing ideas to optimize the system. Team leader with a project focus: Take charge as a project leader, spearheading application implementations and upgrades to maximize efficiency.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

Bachelor's degree: in statistics, computer science, engineering or a similar field. Proven experience: 5+ years in data analytics, data engineering, or a similar field. Industrial software proficiency: Experience with data historian and analytics software used in industrial settings, such as Capstone dataParc, parcView, OSI PI, or SEEQ. Optimization expertise: Familiarity with optimization software like SEEQ or PowerBI is a plus. Communication and teamwork: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively. Self-reliance and collaboration: The ability to work independently and seamlessly within a team. Problem-solving prowess: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to tackle complex challenges. Time management mastery: The ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines consistently. Technical foundation: Working knowledge of SQL, VBA, and VB.NET for data manipulation. Time-series data guru: A strong understanding of time-series data analysis is essential.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job-related experience The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Drive and Focus: You're a highly motivated and assertive self-starter, goal-driven with a keen eye for detail. Strategic Planning: Leveraging your experience and judgment, you'll independently plan and achieve objectives, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy. Communication Expertise: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating across teams. Technical Proficiency: You possess experience with data historians like Capstone dataParc, parcView, OSI PI, or SEEQ, and familiarity with others is a plus. Data Whiz: You have a strong understanding of time-series data and mathematical concepts. Documentation Guru: Experience crafting technical and functional documentation is a must. Standards Champion: The ability to adhere to best practices and industry standards is key. Pipeline Savvy (a plus): A strong understanding of pipeline operations is a valuable asset. Team Player: You're dependable with well-developed interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit. Tech Mastermind: Proficiency in Windows administration, security, and networking is essential. Solid IT Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in Information Technology, with a focus on Windows workstations and servers, is preferred.   Working Conditions:

Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
