Our Operations

 

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. In 2023 BHP acquired OZ Minerals adding SA Copper and Gold mines Carrapateena and Prominent Hill to the portfolio, providing opportunities to develop and grow across a large scale operation.

About the Role

 

As a Specialist Planning & Reporting, you will report to the Manager Planning & Reporting, where you will provide insight into a highly skilled team and high performing function, leveraging your financial and planning experience and skills. This role will see you provide financial support and guidance across our Copper South Australia Asset. Your focus on maximising value, supported by sound process management and effective engagement across multiple stakeholders, will be utilised to facilitate the delivery of continuous improvement activities and the annual business planning cycle. 

 

Core Accountabilities of the role

Work with Finance Business Partners and Operations teams to collect, process and analyse financial data, to deliver plans aligned with company outcomes and execution of ongoing business improvement opportunities across our organisation. Support the analysis of production, benchmarking and project data to deliver insights and solutions to improve business operations and financial performance. Execute investment evaluation processes and modeling to ensure adequate review of assumptions, outcomes and recommendations. Use models, systems and tools to ensure an optimal approach in delivering business requests that drive process efficiency and standardisation. Support Finance and Operations in continuously improving planning and reporting processes to be fit for purpose, effective and efficient. Apply innovative data wrangling and analysis techniques to identify and collate data. Confidently present ideas, results and recommendations to internal stakeholders. About You

 

We are seeking candidates with the following competencies:

Experienced in the collection, processing and analysis of large and complex data sets.  Degree qualification in engineering, commerce/finance or mining related technical discipline. Core technical and work experience in either mining engineering, supply chain planning or commercial. Ability to work autonomously and be responsible in complex decision making.  Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Familiar with Financial Systems Management (ERP and Budgeting/Forecasting).
