Job Requisition: REQ3360 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours Hiring range: $18.74- $ 25.07 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities: • Responsible for processing record request and auditing medical records within the confines of what is minimally necessary while always safeguarding confidentiality, Responsible for responding to medical records request in a timely manner. • Pull records appropriately and accurately in a timely manner for requests, including but not limited to, patient care, quality review and audits in a timely manner • Coordinates the release of protected Health information PHI to patients, legal guardians, insurance companies, legal entities, state, and federal agencies • Processes subpoenas and court orders at the direction of the Director of HIM and Legal Department • Observe confidentiality and safeguards all patient-related information and verifies that all releases of information and other PHI forms are in accordance with St. Mary’s Healthcare policy and procedures and state and federal laws. • Ensure that all requests for records are accurately logged into computer. • Follow up with pertinent staff members and departments if clinical deficiencies are found in the medical record • Provide excellent customer service for internal and external medical record requestors. • Assist in training new hires in the medical records positions as needed. • Assist with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures • Assist other areas of HIM when needed. Minimum Qualifications Licensure / Certification / Registration: Education: High school diploma required. Associate degree in related field preferred Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English. Work Experience: Must be self-motivated  Must be able to multitask  Excellent organization skills a must  Minimum of 1 year experience with medical record
