Job Description
The Special Events Specialist will directly report to the Executive Director of Special events providing support on all Special Events. Includes assisting to coordinate all aspects of event planning and execution as assigned by our internal customers and executive management while maintaining working relationships with vendors. This position includes office management and administrative tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Managers to plan, coordinate and implement eventsPerform a variety of routine and non-routine assignments for eventsChecks and processes Expense ReportsSubmit HotSos requests as needed: shred bin removal weekly/biweekly, general Engineering maintenance & Public Area requestsPurchasingSWS Orders – periodically check supply levels and order as needed (i.e., water, coffee cups, plastic cups, cutlery, tissue, copy paper etc.)Office Max Orders – periodically check supply levels and check with team before orderingCreate Engineering project numbersProvides specialized administrative support of a non-routine, non-repetitive nature to relieve and assist Executives of complex details and administrative duties (i.e., coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and efficient workflow; establishes and maintains harmonious working relationships with superiors, co-workers, subordinates, clients and suppliers).Work as directed and complete all job-related tasks in the time frame that are assignedAssist the Special Events Team with all clerical functionsAnswer phones, take messages, file, run errands and make deliveriesCheck office voicemail 2-3 times a weekMaintain Special Events e-mail inboxAssist with gift assembly, credential assembly, event set-up, event registration, gift and ticket distribution, greet guests, ticket collection, seating guests and event clean upWill be required to assist in the overall Management of all types of events including: Table Games, Poker, Slot Tournaments, Golf Tournaments, Resort Events, and Off Property ticketed eventsQualificationsMust be 21 years of age or olderMinimum of two (2) years of event planning experience or equivalent Bachelor’s degree or equivalentCandidates must be able to handle a high-pressure environmentDetail-oriented and the ability to multi-taskEnsure confidentiality of all casino informationWork varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidaysWork in a fast-paced, busy somewhat stressful environmentMaintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while working under pressure, meeting deadlines and dealing effectively with guests, management team members and outside contactsProfessional appearance and demeanorRequires advanced proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word Excel and PowerPoint)Requires the highest degree of communication skillsCommunicate effectively in English in both written and oral formsA valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this positionAdditional InformationWynn Resorts is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
