Job Description:

Tax Services is responsible for managing TD Bank’s corporate tax matters including planning, compliance, reporting, strategy, governance and liaising with revenue authorities.

Reporting to the AVP-International Tax, the Manager will be responsible for International Tax planning, compliance, advisory and audits for TDBG foreign affiliates.

Responsibilities:

Analyzing and applying the Canadian foreign affiliate tax rules, conducting research and technical analysis on various international tax matters;Supporting Corporate Office functional areas and Business Units to identify tax planning opportunities;Assisting in the analysis of the Canadian tax consequences of international transactions, including liaising with outside counsel;Assisting with the project management and implementation of initiatives designed to manage TDBG’s tax position;Participating in ad hoc projects requiring the identification and resolution of cross-border tax issues;Preparing FAPI calculations for quarterly tax provision and annual tax return filings;Collaborating with Canadian Income Tax Compliance and Transfer Pricing teams to prepare and review T1134 and T106 information returns for TDBG foreign affiliates;Preparing tax attribute calculations, (i.e., surplus, cost base, etc.), including the collection of enterprise-wide, historical data from various sources; andAnalyzing and responding to International Tax audit queries from Canadian tax authorities and external auditors.

Education and Other Qualifications:

An accounting designation, law degree or Master of TaxationMinimum 3 years of experience in corporate or international taxExcellent communication skills, both verbally and in writingBe highly flexible and adapt quickly to changing priorities/deadlinesBe well organized, self-motivated, customer-oriented, and be able to work well independently and in a team
