As a Specialty Insurance intern/co-op, you will receive valuable on-the-job training such as the Specialty Insurance underwriting philosophy, business unit products and strategies as well as training on various system tasks. You will work on a wide range of exposures and coverages including and not limited to Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Identity Fraud Reimbursement, Cyber Liability and Design Professional Liability. **What Will You Do?** + Each intern will be expected to complete challenging and meaningful project work over the course of this program. + Intern duties will vary based on the area of the business that is supported, specific assignments and business needs. + As a part of the Travelers Canada internship, we also offer: + Ability to participate in various Travelers workshops and sessions. + Interaction with all levels of management. + Networking opportunities. + Competitive compensation. + Learn and understand effective strategies for submission logging and clearing, assessing risks and following underwriting rules while managing the intake and underwriting of less complex new business accounts. + Develop knowledge of system tasks (renewal and new business transactions), products and the foundations of Specialty Insurance underwriting. + Perform other duties as assigned. **What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?** + Students who are serious about entering the insurance industry is preferred. + Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above preferred. + Undergraduate students completing their 3rd or 4th year preferred + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Strong analytical skills. **What is a Must Have?** + Must be pursuing post-secondary degree. + Legally eligible to work in the Canada. **Equal Employment Opportunity Statement** Travelers is an equal opportunity employer.
