We are seeking an initiative-taking and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our Sports, Hospitality, Entertainment & Leisure division. The successful candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position is based in our Wakefield, MA headquarters location of Specialty Group.

What you will do:

Provide support, including data entry, endorsement processing, file management, and report generationAssist underwriters in the preparation and review of insurance applications and policiesConduct preliminary risk assessments and gather necessary documentation from clientsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of underwriting decisions and policy changesCommunicate with clients to obtain additional information pertinent to underwriting decisions via email and phone callsProvide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concernsSupport the underwriting team in annual reviews of various insurance programsAssist with special projects or tasks when necessary and take initiative to identify ways to improve workflow processes

Your Background:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferredThis is an entry level position, however, previous experience/internship in underwriting, insurance, or a related field is a plusStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills
