Position Specialty Sales Manager
Description
Location: Seattle, WA (required)
Role: Hybrid, Full Time
Travel: 30% US, Canada
Rate: $85,000 - $125,000 DOE
About this role:
The Specialty Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and managing relationships with specialty retail partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the outdoor retail market. This person must bring a high level of enthusiasm for building relationships, attacking new opportunities and embody OR’s brand ethos. The Specialty Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of North American Sales, VP of Sales, marketing, sales operations and external partners to achieve sales targets, enhance brand presence, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities Include:
+ Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the specialty retail segment.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with specialty retail partners, providing exceptional service and support to ensure their success.
+ Identify, evaluate and add new distribution opportunities in the outdoor market and beyond.
+ Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies.
+ Work closely with independent sales agencies to achieve sales goals and expand distribution of Outdoor Research.
+ Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales initiatives with overall brand objectives and product launches.
+ Provide training and support to retail partners on product features, benefits, and selling techniques to enhance their ability to promote Outdoor Research products.
+ Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports and insights to senior management, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
+ Manage sales budgets and resources effectively to maximize ROI and achieve sales goals.
+ Represent Outdoor Research at industry events, trade shows, and meetings to promote the brand and build industry connections.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all sales activities.
Position Requirements
What you should bring to the table
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the outdoor or sporting goods industry.
+ Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
+ Strong understanding of the specialty retail market and key industry trends.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
+ Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
+ Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a passion for the outdoor industry.
+ Ability to travel as needed (domestically and internationally) to meet with retail partners and attend industry events.
