Specialty Scientific Advisor
Site Name: Korea - Seoul Posted Date: Nov 27 2024 JOB PURPOSE: To provide an expert interface between GSK Medical and the external healthcare community on medical topics and help ensure the safe and effective use of GSK medicines through appropriate scientific dialogue. Specialty SA provides success in building and maintaining external experts’ belief on GSK products and disease related using the scientific engagement / exchange expertise. Specialty SA manages the effective/efficient performance and tracks metrics according to the medical objectives. The execution of Specialty SA objective and activities will be aligned with medical product strategy and objectives. The key accountabilities of this role are as follows: Build peer-to-peer scientific relationships with identified Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations/scientific societies to address their information needs and gain insights that inform GSK medical and research strategies. Support line manager (e.g. medical lead etc) to develop less experienced MSLs as scientific advisor as well as expert Medical Science Liaison (MSL). Execute and support MSL operational plan to achieve goals in line with Business plan. Identify and External Experts (EEs) who are professionals, decision makers and other stakeholders in specific disease areas (eg. HCPs, Pharmacists, Patient groups). Gather medical voice of customer (mVOC), unmet medical needs from HCPs and generate medical insights, securing advice that informs GSK development of medicines of value for the ultimate benefit of patients. Chair, facilitate and present as an internal expert in meetings/seminars. Respond to unsolicited requests for on or off-label information or safety concerns from HCPs. Support clinical development activities by participating in the site identification and assessment process, addressing subject retention and other scientific issues in partnership with study management and monitoring. Implement effective Medical Affairs planning in collaboration with others in Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams. Act as the trainer and medical/scientific expert for GSK staff regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat. Support investigator management for GSK clinical study in partnership with study management and monitoring. The required skills of this role to achieve the goals are as follows : Education and qualification Knowledge of life sciences field (medical, pharmacy, nursing, biology, clinical, specified disease/therapeutic area) preferred 6+ years of Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry experience (medical affairs, clinical development, or medical research) or a very strong academic background Experience interpreting and communicating scientific data and statistics Working experience in hepatology and/or liver-related disease therapeutic area preferred Core competencies / skills Sound negotiation, influencing, and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with External Experts Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
