About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specification Writer to join our dynamic team in Auckland, New Zealand. Based on-site, this role is pivotal in providing comprehensive specification solutions, creating door and hardware schedules with quote, and working with the sales team on managing lead generation and opportunities in CRM. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to grow ASSA ABLOY’s engagement and expand the understanding and application of our innovative tools like ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio (AAOS).

 

We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, challenge the status quo, and contribute innovative solutions to help shape the future of our specification processes.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and delivering detailed and accurate door and hardware specifications/schedules in compliance with building codes, New Zealand Standards, fire compliance, and ASSA ABLOY product requirements. Providing technical support to sales teams through hardware and system knowledge. Coordinating with architects, consultants, builders, and sales team to manage and follow up with leads in CRM for project opportunities. Creating project quotations using ASSA ABLOY quotation software and managing margins and discounts according to guidelines. Supporting external client users and internal teams in the usage of AAOS modules for detailed BIM specifications and projects. Bringing a fresh perspective to the specification process by identifying opportunities for process improvements and introducing innovative practices. Attending sales meetings, product promotions, training sessions, and other industry-related functions as required.

 

About You

We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and specification solutions.

 

Key criteria include:

3+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in the door and hardware or architectural industries. Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations, New Zealand Standards, and compliance requirements. Ability to read and interpret project construction plans and working drawings. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and digital access hardware solutions and experience in specifying them. Proficiency in Dynamics 365, BIM software, AutoCAD A track record of bringing new ideas or fresh approaches to processes or systems in previous roles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in working with software tools for specifications, estimation, CRM, and ERP.
