Specimen Processing Coordinator FT Days Position Summary

Oversees front-end (pre-analytic) laboratory operations processes including phlebotomy, lab assistants, and technical support staff.

Responsible for all front-end laboratory processes including phlebotomy, specimen processing, send out/referred testing. Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed by phlebotomists, lab assistants, and non-technical support staff. Will oversee all aspects of reference lab/send out testing.

THE SPECIMEN PROCESSING COORDINATOR FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Required: 3 years of phlebotomy or specimen processing (pre-analytic) experience with increasing responsibility in an acute care facility

Certifications:

Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
