Kennedy Krieger Institute is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist I to join our dynamic Special Education team and make a lasting impact in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.
Exciting opportunity to work with a team of supportive SLPs. Work with elementary, high school, and transitional students (up to 21 years old) with complex communication needs and significant behavioral challenges. Many AAC/AT learning opportunities. What You’ll Do:As an SLP-I, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with communication challenges by:
Conducting comprehensive assessments in speech, language, oral motor, and feeding/swallowing.Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans aligned with each student’s IEP.Delivering services in diverse settings including pull-out, classroom, and co-teaching formats.Collaborating with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure educational benefit.Maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with MSDE, ASHA, and departmental standards.Participating in team meetings, staff development, and community outreach. What You Bring:Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.Maryland State Licensure (or eligibility).Experience working with children with communication disorders.Physical & Professional Requirements:Ability to lift/carry students and adaptive equipment as needed.Comfortable working in a school setting with potential exposure to communicable diseases.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Commitment to professional development and service excellence.
