Speech and Language Pathology Assistant - Pediatrics

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) Rehabilitation Services is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathology Assistant to join our large Rehab Department. Opportunities currently exist in our 2 pediatric outpatient settings.

PVHMC is a nationally recognized and award winning 412 Bed, non-profit, acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center. Rehabilitation Services at PVHMC has grown to 75 licensed therapists and 110 Associates. Services include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. We are proud to have over 20 clinical specialty programs, each led by experienced and highly trained therapists. The PVHMC campus is home to our 11,000 sq. ft. outpatient clinic. We have 5 other outpatient clinics in the neighboring cities of Claremont, La Verne and Chino Hills. Two of these outpatient practices are exclusively pediatrics, one in Claremont and the other in Chino Hills.

 

PVHMC SPLAs work under the supervision of CA licensed SLP-CCC therapists at either of our “Milestones Centers for Child Development” each with state-of-the-art equipment. All newly hired SLPAs are provided with extensive and detailed orientation and training programs, focused on your unique role in our medical/clinical setting. Teammates include therapists and assistants from not only Speech, but PT and OT as well.  Collaboration across all services is the norm when it comes to caring for our smallest and most vulnerable patients.

Position Summary:  Provides direct patient care. Assists Speech Language Pathologist with speech, language and hearing screenings and during assessment of patients and clients. May be involved in the supervision and education of high school and/or college students. May perform other duties as assigned.
 
Job Qualifications: [Required] Valid California State Speech Therapy Assistant License. High school diploma or equivalent. BLS. Clinical training experience and continuing education in specialty area.

 

Salary range: $31.99 - $45.02
