As a PRN Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate and treat patients with injuries or diseases which result in loss or impairment of speech, language, voice, cognitive and/or swallowing function. Our Avon Hospital Inpatient Hospital Therapy Team where we treat medically complex patients in a dynamic acute care inpatient setting.
A caregiver in this position works variable PRN hours, days 8am-4:30pm. Weekend and Weekday availability desired.
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and establishes goals and plan of care.
Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard speech therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
Complete documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
Master's level degree required.
Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program.
Current Ohio Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Must hold or have applied for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
Experience in acute care and modified barium swallow study experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform tasks needed for patient care and administrative tasks.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
