SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (PEDS FOCUS) - Rehabilitation Services (0. 8 FTE) - Duluth, MN (Incentive or Bonus Available)
**Job Description** **Job Description:** Evaluates, plans, treats and implements care for patients in the areas of speech, language, cognition and swallowing accordance with professional standards of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) using any established Clinical Practice Guidelines. **Education Qualifications:** Key Responsibilities: + This is a 0.8 FTE inpatient position at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN + Provides therapy evaluation, treatment planning, treatment, patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning for a full caseload of patients + Assess and treat feeding and swallowing disorders in neonates and pediatric patients + Evaluate infants' readiness for oral feeding and develop appropriate feeding plans + Provide oral motor and swallowing evaluations for NICU and pediatric patients + Educate parents and caregivers on feeding techniques and early communication development + Conduct pre-feeding readiness assessments and implement feeding interventions + Support breastfeeding efforts in collaboration with lactation specialists + Provide early communication therapy for pediatric patients. + Provides all ancillary/administrative requirements for a full caseload of patients, including documentation, billing, scheduling management, and other administrative duties + Demonstrates appropriate communication, professionalism and supervision of support staff (licensed assistants, aides, volunteers) and complies with all organization policies. + Complies with organization code of conduct and meets professional organization core values, code of ethics, &/or scope of practice + Participate in weekend rotation (approximately every 6th weekend) covering the entire hospital + Work where the patient need is highest (including flexing to other departments) when home department schedule allows + Provide staff education, participate/lead committee groups, participate in staff onboarding/orientation + May serve as a clinical instructor, participate in department or therapy discipline committees, and complete credential/certification that would benefit patient care + This position is open to students in their final year of training, they can receive a monthly stipend for a maximum of 12 months before the official start date Educational Requirements: + Master's degree from accredited speech and language pathology program **Licensure/Certification Qualifications:** Certification/Licensure Requirements: + Current registration/license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of practice + Specialized training or experience in NICU and pediatric care preferred + Preferred FEEs and MBSS trained in pediatric/adult populations. **For More Information, contact:** Delaney Kennedy, Recruiter Email: Phone: 612-655-7886 **Job Location:** Building B - St Marys Medical Center **Shift Rotation:** Day Rotation (United States of America) **Shift Start/End:** / **Hours Per Pay Period:** **Compensation Range:** $31.30 - $46.95 / hour **Union:** **FTE:** 0.8 **Weekends:** **Call Obligations:** **Sign On Bonus:** Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) at Essentia It is our policy to afford EEO to all individuals, regardless of race, religion, color, sex, pregnancy, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, family medical history, genetic information, sexual orientation, marital status, military service or veteran status, culture, socio-economic status, status with regard to public assistance, and other factors not related to qualifications, including employees or applicants who inquire about, discuss, or disclose their compensation or the compensation of other employees or applicants, or membership or activity in a local human rights commission, or any other category as defined by law.
