Great opportunity with flexibility in an acute care setting!

 

Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132 Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis, On-Call requirements: 1-2 weekend shifts per month and 2-3 holidays (both major & minor holidays) per year with Weekday Daytime availability needed.

Here’s What You Need

·        Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or
Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required

·        SLP Experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient setting.

·        SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or
SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology Intern License Upon Hire Required
SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Preferred And

·        BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.

·        Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

·        Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.

·        Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

 

What You Will Do

·        Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

·        Focus and priority on Stroke, NPO (nothing per oral) and pending discharge after evaluation patients

·        Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

·        Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

·        Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

·        Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
