The speech-language pathologist is responsible for the diagnostic and therapeutic implementation of treatment plans to rehabilitate communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders. Clinical responsibilities are such as outlined in the ASHA Scope of Practice
Essential Functions -
Performs evaluations and patient care within designated scope of practice, according to hospital and department guidelines, across the continuum of care in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).Documents patient care according to Hospital and department guidelines.Assists in orientation and supervision of CFY candidates, new employees, students, and volunteers.Attends required meetings and adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures including Mercy Core Values and EXCEL! patient experience commitment.Works weekends and holidays as assigned.Accepts direction to assist in all work areas across the continuum as census needs to reflect and act as an active team participantDemonstrates behaviors that foster a positive work environment.Maintains all aspects of licensure/certification including CEU requirements.Maintains program productivity standards.Participates in PI to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the program.Demonstrates the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in all group(s) served, and maintains appropriate ethical conduct at all times.Performs other duties as assigned.This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. Current Ohio Speech and Language Pathology License, ASHA Certification
Licensure/Certification Preferred:
CPR Certification, Ohio Driver’s License, and Insurance
Minimum Years and Type of Experience:
Experience preferred but not required.

Experience with electronic medical record
