Overview
T.C. Harris School and Academy, a MyPath School, is a residential treatment center and therapeutic day school that provides therapeutic and educational services to children, adolescents and young adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities, autism diagnosis, and emotion regulation disorders.
Essential Functions:
- The SLP or SLPA will work with the Education Director/leadership and other staff in daily treatment implementation, as it pertains to their IEP based speech minutes.
- Within the Speech and Language team, complete assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders for students.
- Implement speech and language programs or activities as planned and directed by speech-language pathologists/team.
- Monitor the use of alternative communication devices and systems.
- Ensures completion of all required paperwork within the department and the IEP.
- Consistently demonstrates a self-directed, mature, disciplined, and tactful approach to completing work duties.
Requirements:
- Educational and certification requirements as necessary to function as a Speech and Language Pathologist or SLPA.
- Graduate of an accredited SLP or SLPA program or possesses state certification and licensure or 100 clinical hours to obtain licensure.
- Experience working with individuals who display needs in the areas of Autism, cognitive delays, EBD, mental health, and other related disabilities is preferred.
