Speech Language Therapist - HomeCare (32hr/week)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's unique needs.Implement treatment plans using a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities. Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.Maintain detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, therapy techniques, and adaptive equipment. Provide guidance and support to help them understand and participate in the treatment process.Supervise clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel, ensuring high-quality care and fostering a collaborative team environment.Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote speech-language health and awareness.Operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business, traveling to patient homes and other locations as required.

Qualifications:

Licensure & Certification: Must hold Maine State Speech-Language Pathologist licensure and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).Driver’s License & Record: Possess a valid Maine state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by MaineGeneral Health policy.Additional Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification and an annual Maine Background Criminal Check are required.Experience: Previous experience in home health or a similar setting is preferred, but we welcome new graduates with strong clinical training.
