Essential Functions:

Administers comprehensive diagnostic evaluationsIdentifies and assesses communication and swallowing disorders by evaluating etiology, case history, and test resultsCounsels patients/families regarding findings, treatment goals, progress, referrals, etcInterprets and offers findings to physicians, etcAnd determines the need for additional referralsProvides a thorough plan of treatment and appropriate therapyPrepares clear, technically sound, accurate, and comprehensive documentation to include findings, impressions, recommendations, progress, and other patient-related concernsImpiles accurate statistics, insurance forms, and charge sheets as necessaryPromotes interdisciplinary consultation, completes continuing education for licensure and professional growth, and provides in-service presentations as appropriateTimely response to professional concerns of a non-clinical nature, i, e, telephone calls, response to student needs, and reply to correspondenceCarries out principles of positive patient relationsProvides peer review, supervises clinical fellows or student internsApplies knowledge of growth and development over the life spanApplies knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate careAssess data reflective of each patient's status and interpret information needed in order to identify each patient's age requirements relative to age-specific health care needs
