Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech language pathology therapy assessments and treatments to patients in the home setting. Provides training to patients family members and caregivers. Participates in orientation of new team members. Interacts with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care. Actively participates departmental meetings and performance improvement activities as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of California Board of Medical Quality Assurance (LIC SPL)Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)Must have current California Driver’s License (DL CA)Clean driving record with proof of liability insurance for automobile

Preferred Requirements:

Two (2) years professional experience as a speech therapistWorking with adult and child language speech disorders and swallowingNew graduates considered on an individual basis

Special Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing clearly concisely and accurately; possesses good interpersonal skills.Demonstrates basic knowledge of the principles techniques and procedures within the scope of their practice as a Speech Therapist. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates ability to function in a team environment collaborating with other patient-care team members physicians and patients and their families. Ability to teach techniques and procedures of speech therapy to patients and their caregivers. Able to work with minimal supervision.
