The Spiritual Care Associate participates as a member of the health care team providing pastoral and spiritual care for patients, families and staff. The Spiritual Care Associate provides specific liturgical requirements of patients and their support persons specific to his/her religious affiliation and that of the patient /support person.
The Spiritual Care Associate provides emergent spiritual and pastoral care as described above on an on-call basis for patients, their families and staff.
Functions as a member of a consultative, interdisciplinary work team.
Is responsible for providing spiritual/emotional support to patients/families and staff.
Provides bereavement support to patients and families along the continuum of their crisis and situation.
Participates in continuous quality improvement projects and professional development with the Unit Care team.
Maintains the highest standards of conduct in hospitality, appearance, attitude, respect and teamwork.
Participates in department patient care schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Plan, implement and conduct appropriate worship or ceremonial services.
Supports department office duties.

QualificationsRequired
Bachelor's Degree preferably in human services or humanities discipline, or Bachelor's Degree in Pastoral Care, Theology or Pastoral Counseling.
1 year of relevant experience One year of demonstrated responsibility in an organized religious/spiritual place or worship.
1 year of relevant experience
CRT-Chaplain and Fellow - Upon Hire
Preferred
1 year of relevant experience One year experience as a chaplain.
Preferred Satisfactory completion of one (1) unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
