**_Job Summary:_**
As a Data Strategy / Business Planning analyst within MUFG, you will play a critical role in supporting the Sponsor Finance and Direct Lending (SFDL) business. You will be responsible for maintaining and building out the group’s reporting & data analytics capabilities while being involved in various strategic, high impact projects to enable business growth. SFDL covers hundreds of private equity clients and underwrites Direct Loans, Broadly Syndicated Loans and other leveraged finance credit opportunities. SFDL also manages a portfolio of 120+ leveraged credits.
Major Responsibilities:
+ Develop and own various reoccurring and ad hoc reporting for the business.
+ Create tools and worksheets to synthesize large subsets of data from various data sources. Prepare analysis, graphics, and reporting packages for senior leadership review.
+ Establish capabilities to pull market and client related data from multiple external sources. Automate process to keep data refreshed and accessible to senior team members. Lead coordination with internal Technology partners to enable reporting functions.
+ Maintain deal database in coordination with deal teams and Sponsor Coverage bankers.
+ Maintain portfolio level reporting in coordination with the portfolio management group. Lead preparation of weekly pipeline reporting activities.
+ Own creation of standardized marketing materials for the business. Maintain marketing decks used in client presentations / pitches. Lead effort to develop marketing blasts for LinkedIn and other platform
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 2+ year of work experience in financial institutions, data analytics or relevant work experience
+ Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, including Macros, VBA, database management and data analysis
+ Demonstrated ability to utilize data to continually identify opportunities for improvement and solutions
+ Experience with Power BI, including data visualization and reporting
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
The typical base pay range for this role is between $90K - $110K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
