Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Sports Anchor with a strong focus on international soccer. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing and reporting skills to deliver sports content on-air for our network’s sports news broadcasts, segments, and special programs. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of performing play-by-play commentary for live soccer events as needed. The Sports Anchor/Play-by-Play will be responsible for staying well-informed and up-to-date on sports news, events, and athletes across all sports, with a particular emphasis on international soccer
QualificationsBasic Requirements:
The primary responsibility is to provide play-by-play commentary for live events, as well as deliver news and information on network sports shows in an engaging, creative, and dynamic manner.Responsible for gathering sports information and preparing on-air sports news presentations for the network’s Spanish language shows.Provides input to the show’s Producer regarding show content.Responsible for writing sports stories, teases and sports news briefsDesired Characteristics:
BA/BS Degree in Journalism or a related field.Excellent Spanish language skills, both verbal and written.Solid English language skills.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in television as a Sports Anchor or Soccer Analyst.Proficient computer skills and digital research knowledge.In-depth knowledge of soccer, as well as a strong understanding of other sports and good sports news judgment.Solid knowledge of social media and proven engagement in various digital content platforms.Ability to ad-lib effortlessly on-air in various broadcast situations, particularly during breaking news.Ability to develop important, engaging, and useful stories for our viewing audience.Excellent interviewing skills.Ability to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines, including flexible hours and schedules when necessary, working weekends and special network events.Ability to work well and effectively with others in a team environment, both in the newsroom and out in the field.Willingness to travel and work long hours, weekends, and holidays when necessaryAdditional Requirements:
