About KOTA/KEVN:
KOTA and KEVN are the ABC and FOX affiliates in Rapid City at the base of the beautiful Black Hills, delivering news under the KOTA Territory brand. KOTA and KEVN are the market leaders for local news, sports, and weather with a state-of-the-art facility. Both stations cover the Black Hills of South Dakota as well as parts of eastern Wyoming. Our team produces seven newscasts Monday through Friday and six newscasts on the weekends.

Job Summary/Description:
KOTA Territory is looking for a dynamic reporter and weekend sports anchor who can do it all: shoot, write, produce, and most importantly, report. The candidate must be able to enterprise stories, have a great work ethic, and be ready to contribute to the top news team in western South Dakota. The position isn't just about television but great storytelling on a variety of digital platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited, to):
- Serve as the primary weekend sports anchor for our 6 weekend newscasts
- Fill-in sports anchoring as needed during the week
- Shoot, write, and edit sports stories and highlights with an emphasis on covering local sports
- Meet daily news deadlines
- Write and post stories on multiple social media and digital platforms
- Report live from various events, both sports and news
- Update station website and social media accounts throughout the day as needed
- Adhere to station branding and promotion
- Adhere to safety rules and programs
- Other duties as requested by News Director and/or General Manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 4-year degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, or a related field
- An engaging and comfortable on-air personality
- The ability and desire to enterprise and produce local sports stories and content
- Excellent communicator
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Anchoring, reporting, and producing experience preferred, but not required
- Integrity, accountability, teamwork
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Spend extended periods of time sitting, using telephone & computer workstation
- Able to drive a vehicle and spend extended periods of time in a vehicle traveling to and from various locations
