WE LOVE OUR WORK. Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of the Sports Book department. Supports, administers, and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.Creates effective and efficient schedules while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and achieving guest satisfaction.Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; ensures compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reports budget concerns to manager.Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with departmental and company standards and programs.Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. - Maintains awareness of management information to maximize profitability of the Sports Book.Develops and implements action plans with Sports Book Manager to improve performance. - Reviews customer activity with Sports Book Manager on a regular basis, identifying non-profitable business and customers impacting on profitability, and adhering to procedures to protect the Sports Book’s profitability. - Ensures the Sports Book team is aware of customers impacting on profitability and that established procedures are followed.Ensures adherence to betting control guidelines within the Sports Book.Resolves bet queries within agreed levels of authority and in a timely manner.Responds to guest inquiries while monitoring and applying service recovery within authorized levels.Manages all accountable costs, with emphasis on use of establishment hours.Plans with Sports Book Manager and leads team participation in all promotional activity.Actively supports Sports Book development strategy.Maintains awareness of local competitor activity and reports all changes.Assists in conducting investigations into variances, violations of internal Controls, and violation of reporting requirements.Responsible for securing the integrity of all assets and oversees balancing of all representative banks.Promotes a positive environment for all guests and team members to encourage the return visit of guests and achieve job satisfaction for all team members.Assists Sports Book Manager with the monitoring of operation supply inventory. Ensures team members have the tools needed to do their jobs to maximize efficiency on assigned shift.Prepares/reviews currency transactions reports on assigned shift.Responsible for review of multiple transactions logs for accuracy on assigned shift. Ensures all staff are trained and follow CTR and SAR procedures; responsible for making sure all paperwork is completed and reported in accordance with established compliance procedures.Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to management.Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters. Must be at least 21 years of age.Associate degree (A.A.) in related field; or minimum three (3) years of experience in a Sports Book or Racetrack; or equivalent combination of education and experience.At least one (1) year of supervisory experience required.Must have knowledge of overall principles of casino operations and staffing requirements.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Ability to write reports and business correspondence.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Must be flexible to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs dictate.
