Summary:
The South Florida Sun Sentinel is taking applications for paid summer internships for 2025 in news, features/entertainment and sports reporting, multimedia/interactives or data reporting, and photo/video.
What you will do:
Assisting with the creation and editing of content, including articles, blog posts, social media posts, and other written materials
Conducting research, fact-checking, and verifying information for accuracy Assisting with the management of editorial calendars and deadlines Proofreading and copyediting content for errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Collaborating with other members of the editorial team to brainstorm new ideas and pitch content
Contributing to social media channels and engaging with the audience
Assisting with administrative tasks, such as responding to emails, answering phone calls, and organizing files
Supporting the publication process, including formatting and uploading content to the website, and publishing articles
Conducting interviews with sources and writing articles based on those interviews
What you will bring:
Interns generally are current college students, but we also will consider recent college graduates
Professional experience through a previous internship or freelance work is strongly preferred, though students whose experience is limited to campus media also will be considered
Candidates must be college students who have completed basic journalism courses
Photographers must have their own equipment
Interns are responsible for finding their own housing
Students selected as interns will work full time for 10 weeks in summer 2025
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
