KDAF/CW33 a Nexstar Media Inc. station seeks an experienced Sports Multimedia Journalist to join our Always Fun team. The Dallas/Fort Worth market is home to numerous sports franchises like the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, NASCAR, ACC, and more. KDAF CW33 is the flagship station of a broadcast network for a selection of Texas Rangers broadcast games in 2025. The ideal candidate should have strong sports photography skills and the ability to find and tell compelling stories. This candidate will primarily focus on daily digital content, with broadcast being secondary. Duties & Responsibilities: + Produce regular Rangers update for digital and broadcast delivery + Produce daily digital first content focused on DFW area sports + Arrange and conduct interviews, shoot video, edit packages and VO/SOTs + Utilize solid sports knowledge to research topics, vet tips for credibility and relevance, gather information for broadcast and digital publication + Write stories with accuracy, style, proper grammar, and correct punctuation, following editorial direction and guidelines + Promote teamwork, bring a positive attitude and collaborate with station personnel + Interact professionally with viewers/users on social media platforms to build engagement and brand, while building a network + Perform special projects and other duties as assigned, including attendance at public events and community service initiatives Requirements & Skills: + Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience + Fluency in English + Social media expertise + Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to ad lib when required + Minimum of two years’ experience shooting sports video and on-air reporting + Engaging and dynamic on-air presence + Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously + Knowledge of current newsgathering technology, including video cameras, editing equipment and newsroom computer systems + Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record + Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as sports content needs dictate Our investment in you: + Health benefits including medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage options such as Telehealth and other employee assistance programs + Paid vacation and sick time policies + Parental benefits + A 401k Plan Nexstar is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining the industry’s top talent.
