Sports Outreach Supervisor

The Sports Outreach Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) to deliver high-quality sports medicine services. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and enhancing athlete care through effective supervision and collaboration. The Supervisor will play a crucial role in injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, and will work closely with coaches, athletes, and other healthcare professionals.

Sports Outreach Supervisor Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Certified Athletic Trainers, including hiring, training, and performance management.Create and manage staff schedules to ensure coverage for all practices, games, and training sessions.Foster a collaborative and professional environment within the sports medicine team. Clinical Oversight:Oversee the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.Develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention and management programs.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including state and national standards for athletic training and sports medicine. Coordination and Communication:Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support athlete performance.Act as a liaison between the athletic training staff and management to address and resolve any issues related to athlete care and team operations.Communicate effectively with athletes and their families regarding injury management and recovery plans. Administrative Management:Oversee the maintenance and inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are available and in good working condition.Maintain accurate and confidential records of athlete injuries, treatments, and progress in compliance with legal and organizational requirements.Prepare and present reports on team performance, injury statistics, and other relevant data to management. Education and Professional Development:Provide ongoing education and training to athletic trainers and other staff on the latest sports medicine practices and injury prevention techniques.Stay informed about advancements in sports medicine, athletic training, and related fields to continually improve team practices.

 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Sports Medicine, or a related field required, master's degree preferredCertification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) required.Minimum of 5 years of experience in athletic training, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.Proficiency in electronic health records and standard office software.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced certifications or specialized training in sports medicine or related fields (e.g., CSCS, PES).Experience working with high school, collegiate or professional sports teams.Familiarity with performance enhancement techniques and holistic athlete care.

Work Environment:

The position may require flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel for team events or competitions.
