Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees **Duties & Responsibilities** + Executes experiments using standard laboratory techniques to achieve defined objectives with minimal supervision during execution. + Organizes own tasks to complete in timely fashion with regular check-in with manager. + Learns how to develop, optimize, and apply new methods/assays. + Interprets results and identifies technical problems. + Learns to troubleshoot and identify causes and, working with supervisor, begins to suggest solutions. + Communicates and defends own experimental results in lab or small group meetings. Contributes methods and results sections to scientific documents. + Independently reads literature and technical information to support individual research goals and to build understanding of the underlying scientific principles of supported projects and the methods used **Requirements** + Major or minor in related field such as Molecular biology, Cancer biology, or Immunology. + Must be a current graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing + Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship + Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred + Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university **Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:** + Must understand scientific principles and research practices in the field of Cell biology and Immunology + Have general research experience using a variety of standard laboratory techniques. + Previous experience in ECM in vitro biology, FACS and co culture assays is highly preferred. + Excellent oral and written communication skills + Proficiency with computers and experience with data analysis software + Ability to work effectively in highly collaborative research environment. **Compensation:** This position offers an hourly rate of $29.00 to $33.00/hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here (https://www.boehringer-ingelheim.com/us/careers/benefits-rewards) . **Eligibility Requirements:** + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. + Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required) + Must be 18 years of age or older All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to a person’s actual or perceived race, including natural hairstyles, hair texture and protective hairstyles; color; creed; religion; national origin; age; ancestry; citizenship status, marital status; gender, gender identity or expression; sexual orientation, mental, physical or intellectual disability, veteran status; pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition; genetic information (including the refusal to submit to genetic testing) or any other class or characteristic protected by applicable law.
