Complete Description:
Department of Employment Services (DOES), Office of Information Technology. The position is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the SQL server database. Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of database technologies and related software. Conducts analysis, creates system specifications, develops, tests and implements engineering, scientific and business applications, operating systems, and file/database servers. Utilizes existing or new technology in the automation of processes.
Database management through maintenance of data dictionaries, data models, performance tuning. Coordinates database changes and tests.
• Programming with SQL Server 2005/2008, 2012, SQL stored procedures, user defined functions, cursors and query batches
• Experience with transactional SQL required
• Knowledge of network architecture to develop, implement and maintain highly efficient network systems
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperV, Oracle VM, or Xen)
• Experience with SQL Server Replication, Change Data Capture, Log Shipping, Resource Governor and/or Database Mirroring
• Knowledge of and experience with log shipping, database mirroring and windows clustering
• Knowledge of and experience with scalability analysis.
• Experience with PowerShell and/or BI stacks -- SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
• Advanced knowledge of Database and Table Partitioning
• Advanced knowledge of database design including table structure, data types, index management, and permissions.
• Any tools exposure for Schema comparison and data comparison
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server including Windows Server clustering and transactional database replication
• Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
• Analyzing business processes and performing in-depth work analysis
• Interfacing with end-users or clients
• Work with Technical Team Lead and clients to define program requirements
