Squad Leader, Common Data Platform Services
Job Description:

The Role 

Do you want to make a difference and be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team committed to enabling Fidelity’s Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) and Asset Management businesses through the creation of relevant and valuable data assets for reuse and increase of data liquidity across multiple domains and product areas within the FFIO business unit? 

We are seeking a Squad Leader of our Common Data Platform Services (CDPS) who will be the product owner handling the centralized data acquisition and distribution capabilities within FFIO. You will drive the roadmap to provide support for the Product Area and platform consumers. You will bring the Squad together to understand consumer needs, envision the product offering, work with other Squad members to prioritize and handle the work, and take lead to optimally resolve dependencies.
 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, related field or equivalent work experience.Proven experience with Product Management.Strong technical knowledge and experience; having AWS, Snowflake work-experience will be an added advantage.Ability to grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and effectively communicate these.Strong intuition for business and a strategic mindset.Experience working with and understanding the needs of consumers (internal) and owning and defining the product roadmap and articulating the strategy back to them.Proven problem-solving skills and experience making decisions based on hard and soft data.Strong ability to recognize the criticality of issues and take appropriate steps to mitigate risks, with a strong focus on execution.Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building hard-working teams.

CDPS is both a foundational and a strategic asset for Fidelity FFIO, deploying capabilities across FFIO and Asset Management businesses and core to our transformation to a data-driven digital company. As a part of FFIO Data domain, CDPS enables Fidelity’s goal of creating relevant and valuable data assets for reuse and increasing data liquidity. We do this by setting greater goals regarding data, aspiring to maximize data monetization outcomes by pervasively improving processes to do things better, cheaper and faster, and wrapping products and services with analytics features and experiences.

At Fidelity, our goal is for most people to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through what we are calling “Dynamic Working.” Most associates will have a hybrid schedule with a requirement to work onsite at a Fidelity work location for at least one week, all business days, every four weeks. Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Having the majority of our associates work onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture.
