The Purpose of This Role

Do you want to be part of a Product Area that helps develop best-in-class capabilities for Asset Management? As one of the Squad Leaders in the Counterparty Risk & user Experience ‘CRUX’ product Area, you blend investment management and technical expertise with a passion for delivering results. As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad’s mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute specific product features. You will ensure alignment on the 'what' and 'when' work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success.

The Value You Deliver

Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and build team and partner support and alignment on end-to-end solutions

Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team

Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria

Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments

Measuring performance against established objectives and Key indicators that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results

Drive operational excellence and efficiencies while making recommendations for improvements

Drive improvement requirements, technical solution review, business acceptance testing, and implementation coordination; solicit ideas for new content to feature

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Intellectually curious and love learning new skills and capabilities (i.e. Product strategy, agile principles and technology platforms)

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Strong project Management skills, product development experience a plus

Financial services experience, primarily focused on trading and compliance processes, preferred

5+ yrs in IT program management and/or end-to-end technology solution delivery

Agile, Jira and Jira Align experience preferred, certifications a plus

Focus on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress

Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working

Strong influence, negotiations, and leadership skills

Proven track record of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority

Ability to grasp requirements and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria

Setting an overall vision to advise and inform the squad’s work

Work with product area leader to help develop the vision and strategy and ensure your squad stays aligned on business objectives and is progressing and achieving business results and customer value, measured through specific KPIs

Prioritizing the backlog of user stories that the squad will deliver upon, you will work across the enterprise to assess interdependencies with other squad leaders, align sequencing of deployment and readiness activities

Translating this understanding into a clear vision for your squad to advise and prioritize the work

Sharing information about the squad’s output and priorities with other squad leaders to ensure alignment across the organization

Supporting and enabling the squad to get its work done

Working with chapter leaders to align the talent needed to get results and customer outcomes

Regularly engaging with the squad to offer feedback on work-in-progress, clarify requirements, and answer questions

Working with group functions, shared services, and other partners to make sure the squad has what it needs to do its work

Removing blockers or impediments that prevent the squad from progressing on its work

The Team

You work in partnership with the Product Area Leader, other Squad Leaders, Scrum Masters, and Chapter Leaders aligned to your squad. This is a highly dynamic and cross-functional product squad to deliver capabilities and solutions that support multiple compliance operations teams within Asset Management that are responsible for policy oversight, trade surveillance, forensic testing, affiliate monitoring, Information Barriers and Material Non-Public Information policies etc
