Who is the Sr Accountant (12-month contract role)?

This role reports to Head of Finance, Malaysia. The incumbent is responsible for managing and growing Asurion's business in Malaysia in accounting. 

What are the key responsibilities?

Overall responsibility for financial reportingHands-on Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting and Inventory ManagementInter-entity transactions Treasury activities including banking, cash forecast and fundingAssist in Annual budgeting Tax preparation - Corporate tax and GST/SST E-Invoice submission Support internal/ external audit, preparation of draft financial statements Support and share working knowledge and best practices with other SEA entities Ensure compliance with approval matrix and related policies for all financial transactionsLiaison with internal departments, regional head office, corporate head office, etc, as requiredUndertakes ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned 

Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:

4-6 years total relevant work experience such as Cost AccountingExperienced finance professional in Microsoft DAX or well-versed SAP and Oracle, accounting system Good oral and written communication skills in English willing to build strong business relationships, able to work cross-functionally and cross-culturallyGood knowledge of Supply Chain Finance, Cost Accounting, and Management Reporting; solid understanding of MFRS and US GAAP will be advantageous Good computer skills including common business applications such as MS Windows and MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerpointHas a strong desire to manage change and process improvement as the business grows and advocates a culture of compliance with policies and controlsCommercial positive attitude with interest in understanding the Asurion business model and market dynamicsAble to work flexible hours as needed during peak timesLooks for opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting processes and controls, willing to challenge the 'status quo'"Hands-on" with preparation of accounts, journal entries, analysis and reportsSystematic and detailed approach to transaction posting, account reconciliation, working capital management; processes and controls
