This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPX Enterprises HVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLain® branded products.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a
Sr. Accountant you are responsible for providing accounting and analytical support for the Finance Department by applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. This position also champions the identification and implementation of continuous improvement of business processes.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Fixed Assets Sending Tracker files to Project Managers Work with Project managers for project closing Creating/Updating/Disposing Asset in JDE and Sage. Running monthly depreciation for book and tax. Coordination of physical verification of fixed assets. Forecasting Depreciation expense.Month-end close Posting an assigned list of journal entries & tasks for the month end. One Stream: Mapping, uploading, forms completion. Prepaid Assets Maintenance. Account reconciliations. Annual Corporate filings.
3. Compliance and Reporting
Filing sales tax returns. Filing Intercompany on portal. Reclass Journal entries. SOX auditor. Lease Query updates. Master data adds and changes. Commissions.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in public and/or manufacturing experience preferred. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. Month end close experience. Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
JDE and/or OneStream a plus. Ability to work independently. Strong organization skills with an attention to detail. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Curious mindset that proactively seeks to understand a task and looks for ways to improve.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred but not required.
Travel & Working Environment
Minimal day travel to Michigan City, IN.
