Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Communications is hiring a Senior Accountant on the Enterprise Accounting Services team analyzes financial data related to direct costs to ensure the accurate, timely and proper accounting of CCI's financial statements.  Develops, recommends, and implements accounting practices throughout CCI to ensure that financial and operating data accurately reflect the condition of the business or unit and provides reliable information necessary to control operations.  Assists in decision making and resolves complex accounting issues for direct cost area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited:

Ensure accurate and timely payments to programmers and franchises in accordance with our contracts.

Understanding of programming agreements

Review and settlements of programming audits

Maintain complete and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other Federal and State regulations

Provide excellent customer service to our business partners to help drive good business decision making including reporting on actuals of financials and variances to forecast explanations

Leads end to end ownership of multiple significant accounting processes to ensure consistent and accurate financial statements, identify anomalies and make recommendations

Oversight and guidance of our outsourced accounting team

Excellent attention to detail

Effectively communicate monthly results

Preparation of documents for review by outside auditors

Provide subject matter expertise within our area of focus; resolve questions and/or problems

Develop business partnerships to facilitate and maintain consistent and accurate financial statements

Monitor and optimize business processes by reviewing operational & financial processes to ensure compliance and effectiveness, identify anomalies and make recommendations

Provide ad-hoc analysis based on customer need

Assist with policy updates, development and compliance

Create and maintain key metrics and monitor KPIs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 4 or more years of experience preferred in related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, IT, etc.). A candidate may also have a Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or a Ph.D. with 1+ year of experience. A non-degreed candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience.

Proficient in Microsoft products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Oracle and other tools, etc

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-fuctional partners throughout  the organization

Team player, reliable, flexible, and active participant on the team

Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced changing environment

Preferred:

Knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Excel, OneStream, BlackLine, Tableau, Power BI and/or ICOMS.

Experience working with a centralized or shared services accounting

CPA or advanced degree
