SR ACCOUNTANT
Responsibilities Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents, located in New Kent, Virginia, provides comprehensive medical, behavioral, rehabilitative, and educational services for children and adolescents ages 2 through 22 who are challenged by co-occurring medical and behavioral diagnoses. Cumberland Hospital is one of the few specialty children’s hospitals providing dual treatment protocols for both medical and mental health issues. Cumberland includes a 62 bed Hospital Program, a 16 bed Inpatient Acute Program, and 30 bed Residential Treatment Program. Our goal is to stabilize medical problems and help children develop positive behavioral coping strategies using an interdisciplinary approach. Qualifications The Senior Accountant is responsible for the efficient operation of the Accounting Department through maintaining the General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and managing Accounts Payable & Payroll functions. Essential Job Duties Responsible for the General Accounting functions, including but not limited to General Ledger, Payroll, and Accounts Payable Accurately prepare account analysis on all balance sheet accounts monthly Prepares monthly GL Close Journal Entries Assists processing of Accounts Payable & Payroll, functioning as backup when necessary due to absence of employee or volume of workload Assist in Annual Budget preparation, Annual inventories, monthly Sales Tax return preparation, and monthly Financial Forecasting Maintain professional attitude and assist with staff education regarding department budgeting, expense variance analysis and FTE management. Prepare weekly FTE Report and analysis Ensure all corporate deadlines are strictly adhered to, communicating with appropriate corporate staff when problems arise Establish, manage and monitor safety standards, processes, communications, training and systems for employees Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
