Purpose:

The Senior Accountant, GAAP Reporting position will report to the Director GAAP Reporting, and collaborate with peers and leaders across the organization to manage and execute financial processes independently.

Accountabilities:

Analyze financial results by researching and resolving variances and inconsistencies in financial statements using standard accounting techniques and practicesLead projects related to financial reporting, focusing on the implementation of standalone reportingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve mutual objectives and support problem-solving initiativesPrepare work papers, conduct data analysis, and aggregate information for annual external audits and examinationsContribute to SEC and GAAP reporting processesCoordinate and develop GAAP ledger infrastructure and reportsImplement GAAP accounting policies for new business transactionsSupport additional finance projects as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

5+ years of experience in GAAP accounting and reporting; experience in the insurance industry is preferred.Oracle, Essbase, and Hyperion experience is preferredFamiliarity with Workiva’s Wdesk solution is preferredCPA and/or FLMI designations completed or in progress is preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report findings effectivelyProficient with MS Office products, including Excel and WordBachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
