Job Description:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field of study requiredCPA license a plus

Work Experiences:

5+ years of experience in general accountingKnowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)Experience utilizing ERP accounting systems requiredMonthly financials analysis experience requiredInventory accounting experience requiredTransportation accounting experienceWorking knowledge of Accounts Payable processesRetail industry experience a plus

Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time-sensitive deadlinesAnalytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skillsAbility to remain organized, pay attention to detail, and meet critical deadlinesStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with individuals at various levelsAbility to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environmentCollaborative team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAdvanced Excel skills

Responsibilities:

Timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and journal entriesMonth-end variance analysis, reporting, and account reconciliationsSupport process improvement and maintain accounting controls and recommend/document policies and procedures in accordance with SOX requirementsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with business partnersSupport external and internal auditors as neededEnsure integrity of results reported and confidentiality thereofUpdate process narratives annually through collaboration with business partners to ensure proper documentation of all significant processesSpecial projects and participation in various initiativesDevelop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rulesDuties may change and additional duties may be required over time
