Job Summary
The Sr. Manager of Accounting will act as a business partner between all organizations outside of accounting (including but not limited to operations and supply chain teams, AP, Treasury and the finance organization). They will use their accounting knowledge to drive process improvements and accountability within the accounting function. This role will also incorporate financial analysis pertinent to the financial health of the organization in achieving both short term and long-term financial plans, as well as other strategic cost savings initiatives. This role will act as a thought leader from an accounting perspective and will have a seat at the decision-making table to drive accurate and timely financial information. Additionally, they will also manage and develop team members.
Core Responsibilities for all jobs at this level
Lead the financial analysis and reporting for the external financial statements and monthly reportingRepresent the accounting organization’s values and processes providing high quality support to executive leadership and senior leadership teamsDirect financial and operational due diligence for all areasStandard Accounting responsibilities including:Timely and accurate close processReview of quality account reconciliationsMonthly close responsibilities (JE review, variance analysis, monthly reporting package)Process improvements and streamline processesManage and Train an effective teamTechnical memos as neededOwner of financial KPIsDirect the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of related processes. Interpret and recommends modification to existing policies and practices. Interpret and prepare accounting technical memo’s.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following
Area of focus: Inventory, Intercompany, Accruals, Expense review, Equity and any others as assigned.Provide financial support for new business opportunities. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Coordination with multiple functions within the org. on various business initiativesEvaluate and implement best practices.Other duties as assignedAdditional job requirements:
Regular scheduled attendanceIndicate the percentage of time spent traveling: ~10%
Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Actual schedule should be discussed with direct manager, as needed. All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Accounting department. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university; and approximately ten (10) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAt least 5 years previous progressive management experienceCPA requiredExperience in Healthcare/Airline industry recommendedSkills
