Sr Actuarial Analyst
**Job Description** The Sr Actuarial Analyst will apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of business in order to provide assistance and technical support for more extensive healthcare economics and financial forecasting activities. This particular role will focus on performance evaluations for both existing initiatives within the Cost of Care portfolio and newly proposed initiatives across several different subject areas including clinical, pharmacy, network, payment integrity, value-based care, and more. Works under minimal supervision with a team of actuaries to assure a coordinated approach to the actuarial components of health programs. + Performs qualitative and quantitative analysis of data to support savings measurements for various cost containment initiatives - both actual savings for existing programs and projected savings for newly-proposed ideas. + Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data from various sources including internal colleagues, internal databases, and external partners. + Develops and distributes established reports to internal and external stakeholders and responds to inquiries regarding results including investigations of material changes and/or anomalies. + Supports records management and documentation of our Cost of Care portfolio performance over prior, current, and forecasted years. + Plans, implements, manages and/or contributes to additional ad hoc projects that are moderate/high complexity. + Is a participant in good standing in the Actuarial Development Program **Hiring Requirements** + Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in an analytic field + 2-6 years of experience in relevant actuarial experience. Related experience may be considered. + Reasonable exam and module progress towards the eventual attainment of the ASA designation. + In lieu of meeting minimum exam requirements, may consider additional relevant experience. + Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.) and SQL **Preferred Skills** + Mastery of SQL-based data queries and data management + Experience with data visualization applications such as Power-BI and Tableau + Experience creating and presenting external, client-facing materials and reports **Salary Range** At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed.
