Job Description:
\nThe Platinum Support Sustaining Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, root cause identification, problem resolution, and maintenance of Windows-based software solutions that will shape the future of the security industry. This includes working with the latest technologies and on exciting applications like biometrics, smart cards, access control, ID management and digital video.
\n\n
The successful candidate will join the Technical Support Department (TSG) and work closely with Engineering teams to support and maintain our flagship security product, with a focus on our Platinum Support customers. This role requires expertise in software troubleshooting and physical security domains to address complex and business-critical support cases. Responsibilities include developing software fixes for escalated issues, managing technical troubleshooting, and facilitating problem resolution activities.

Approximately 20% of the candidate's time will be dedicated to directly supporting a specific customer, including custom integrations, participating in customer calls, and presenting technical solutions and status updates. The remaining time will focus on sustaining engineering tasks, primarily for Platinum Support customers.

The position currently reports to the US Director of Technical Support, and you’ll work out of our Pittsford, NY location Onsite for first 3 months and later Hybrid.
\nthe annual base salary range for this position is $146,000 - $182,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Key Responsibilities:
\n\nParticipate in the maintenance of an existing product\nEffectively communicate and collaborate with local and international teams\nAnalyze and resolve complex software problems from field deployments\nDesign, prototyping and implementation of new solutions\nWorkload estimation and risk assessment\nUtilize the latest C++ / C# techniques in code development\nUtilize the latest tools & techniques in software debugging and troubleshooting\nWork closely with members of Technical Support, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, VARs and end users as may be necessary\n\n
YOU MUST HAVE
\n\nBachelor of Science or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related, or commensurate experience\nProficiency in C++, C#, and SQL\nExperience with Microsoft development tools, including Visual Studio\nExperience with MFC, COM, XML, MS SQL Server\nExperience with multi-threaded applications\nKnowledge of version control and defect management tools\nExperience with relational databases\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nSelf-motivated and results-oriented\nFast learner who works well both independently and within a team\n\nWE VALUE
\n\nExperience across full life cycle of server applications\nExperience interfacing hardware with software\n\n\nExperience with troubleshooting in Windows, crash/memory dump collection, perfmon, Active Directory, Domain, and network connectivity troubleshooting\nExperience with database concepts, SQL, SQL Server, SQL Management Studio, Oracle, and Crystal Reports a plus\n\n\nAzure or other cloud platforms\nAgile software development\nKnowledge of security systems: access control, video surveillance, intrusion\n\n\n
