The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
**Role Description:**
+ Supervises platform training-related classes and orientations given by the aircraft maintenance instructors; Supervises and conducts hands on training task and skills, outsource training and other aircraft maintenance training activities in English and Spanish as Senior Platform Instructor and On the Job Training Instructor. Ensures the aircraft maintenance instructor conducts proper development of courseware and training of Host Nation and contractor personnel in the area of aviation maintenance. Assists the Peru Training Manager in administering, planning, developing, scheduling, and coordinating INLA program training requirements for Host Nation and contractor personnel in the areas of aircraft maintenance and related technical disciplines to company and U.S. government best practice and standards. Works closely with designated trainers, task certifiers and other subject matter experts who are responsible for providing training in their areas of expertise to assigned employees at each operating location.
+ **Key Responsibilities:**
+ Supervises and develops formal classroom courseware to ISD standards in English and/or Spanish to ensure that program training objectives, standards and procedures are understood.
+ Develops and uses training documents and test control measures of courses, tests, and hands on evaluations.
+ Trains, monitors, and evaluates aviation maintenance trainers and students on maintenance actions performed, inspections of aircraft and equipment condition for safety, compliance with technical directives, maintenance directives, and OSHA and Department of State regulations.
+ Provides on the spot instruction to students and maintenance personnel as necessary.
+ Within the scope of his aviation trainer duties, ensures all company workplace and aviation maintenance safety practices are complied with at all times.
+ Assist the Peru Training Manger in the use of company IT database and other office applications to track and report training and certification of INLA program personnel.
+ Perform other duties as directed by the Peru TNG MGR and or the Site Manager.
Qualifications:
**Basic Qualifications** **:**
+ If no FAA A and P, in possession of an equivalent aircraft maintenance license, i.e. General Directorate for Civil Aviation DGAC for South America.
+ Minimum of three 3 years experience as a platform hands on Instructor in an aviation maintenance training program school i.e. INLA program, USAALS, IAAFA, BAMC, and or Fort Rucker or other aviation maintenance trainer accredited school.
+ Experience in courseware development for aircraft systems.
+ A minimum of seven 7 years experiences as licensed FAA Airframe and Power Plant mechanic.
+ Must have thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware, and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft.
+ Must be fully knowledgeable of all requirements within the Technical Orders as they apply.
+ Must be able to interpret technical data.
+ Must have good English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills.
+ Effective interpretation skills for inspection duty, and an ability to analyze inspection findings.
+ Travel may be required on a periodic basis.
+ Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance management programs
+ Working knowledge of Quality Control programs, OSHA, and Department of State regulations.
+ Spanish language proficiency level 2 required Able to speak and write in Spanish sufficiently to train and oversee Host National Police to meet the conditions of the duties assigned.
+ Currently possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport before assignment if U.S. citizen.
+ Possess or have the Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust MRPT through Department of State Background Investigation or full Background Investigation through Host Nation US Embassy if TCN FN, a condition of continued employment. A current MRPT is desired.
