Sr Analyst, Business Consulting

This Sr Analyst, Business Consulting will work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of two days in the Des Moines office.

Responsibilities will include:

SureLC and SureWorkbench Management: Oversee administration, configuration and defect management.Strategic Transformation: Collaborate with management and peers to drive business transformation through strategic application of people, processes, and technology.Performance Monitoring: Identify critical business process elements for monitoring and report performance cohesively.Change Management: Engage in department-level change initiatives.Training and Demonstrations: Train customers on trends to support business performance improvement; provide demonstrations and walk-throughs.Product and Workflow Evaluation: Management of the configuration of workflows within the new products and ensure alignment with standardized business processes.

Qualified candidates will have the following skills and experience:

*Strong communication skills with the ability to present in group settings and collaborate across teams

*Experience with technology applications

*Experience in project and change management, particularly using Agile methodology

*Ability to work with budgets

Compensation Grade:  E3

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

As a Senior Analyst, you'll formulate and define business transformation scope and objectives through research and fact-finding. You will design or modify moderately complex business processes and the corresponding technology solutions.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Partners with management and peers to transform businesses through the strategic application of people, processes and technology. Participates in the planning process by identifying complexities, dependencies and redundancies. 

Participates in process analysis/design, needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align solutions with business strategies and directions. Participates in developing business-specific technology plans. Consults with functional groups within Nationwide Technology and internal business clients to develop short-term business transformation plans. 

Recommends and implements moderately complex business processes and procedures. Responsible for communicating to customers, management and external sources.

Identifies critical elements of a business process that need to be monitored. Reports performance in a cohesive manner. 

Participates in analysis and design of organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, governance, staffing and sourcing to support business goals, strategies and process architecture. Participates in department-level change.

Assists in training customers on business, technological, societal and environmental trends to support strategies for improving business performance.  Provides demonstrations and walk-throughs.

Evaluates and researches new and existing products, procedures and/or workflow needs associated with business systems for the company. Evaluates new technological developments and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements. 

Assists in the implementation of compelling business cases to accomplish business objectives. Assists with the identification, assessment and mitigation of business risks associated with the current operating model and/or desired target state operating models.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director; this is an individual contributor role.  

Typical Skills and Experiences:


Education: Undergraduate studies in business, insurance, mathematics, computer science or related field preferred. 

Experience: Three or more years of experience in business consulting and business process analysis and design, performance improvement, problem solving, planning, coordinating and organizing. Experience with process redesign methods and tools a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of standards, methodologies and frameworks, business process management and technology. Knowledge of a wide variety of tools, concepts and techniques. Basic understanding of new technologies and developments in the technology industry. Good understanding of systems development life cycle. Knowledge of project management required. Knowledge of facilitation, performance management, organizational design and managing organizational change. Demonstrated project and process management skills, solid communication skills and ability to deal with ambiguity. 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
