Position Details
As a Senior Analyst, Collections Reporting & Analytics you will lead the design and strategy for analytics, reporting, and process improvement. You will be responsible for providing critical insights and business intelligence around the Grainger’s North American business units. You will be responsible for the creation, standardization and delivery of data reports and predictive analysis around the financial health and profitability of our business. You will design and deliver solutions to translate operating metrics into insights that inform strategies, business decisions and recommendations. You will be the Subject-matter-expert to establish, communicate and execute a clear measurement strategy for the business. This position is hybrid requiring 50% of time onsite at the Lake Forest, IL headquarters or the Janesville, WI office.
Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for the position is $79,000.00 to $131,600.00. This position is eligible for participating in our short-term incentive program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills. The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.
You Will
Leverage analytics and business judgment to partner with department leaders to identify, prioritize and solve complex business problems with clear and concise recommendations to leadership. Provide reporting on key operational and strategic dashboard metrics across all areas of Grainger’s NA Business Units (e.g. Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain, etc.). Function as a liaison working with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. Provide proactive value-added analysis, insights and recommendations that helps leaders establish priorities and set direction, aligning with overall company and department objectives. Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements, recommends, and implements solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Ability to use A3 Thinking to identify the tasks, knowledge, and techniques required to determine and assess proposed solutions to business problems. System Development – Analysis work performed to review the current stated solutions used by an organization, to identify the issues, define the requirements, and suggest best possible solutions, in addition to configuration development and testing. Continuous Improvement – Analysis work to review current manual or workflow activities and tasks performed by people, functional areas, and systems, which are designed to achieve a specific outcome, while assuring data quality/integrity. Understands relationships, information exchanges/handoffs, procedures, policies, and observations of work performed to achieve specific outcomes. Within the context of the relationship with the business, assures alignment for continuous improvement within the systems landscape. Quickly build relationships and partner with management to provide solutions that will drive strategy and organizational vision to all functional areas in the business. Provide recommendations and lead discussions with leadership to understand business gaps to provide analytical solutions and an implementation plans that includes a systemic component to reduce time spent on data mining or validating the integrity of data.
You Have
Bachelor’s degree. 3+ years working with data analytics program languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS), enterprise data warehouse systems (e.g. Teradata, SQL), and emerging reporting tools and technologies (e.g. Tableau, BusinessObjects). Strong competency in relevant financial skills such as P&L analysis along with other various decision-making financial analysis tools. Broad business knowledge and organizational awareness as well as an understanding of business profitability drivers. Proven analytic and quantitative decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with senior team members. The ability to influence decision-making processes without having specific authority. Must be technologically savvy to drive effective means of analyzing and reporting critical business information.
