Major Duties:

Completes initial and more complex (level one) alert investigations in connection with AML matters involving Northern Trust accounts/clients that alerted in the global automated transaction monitoring systemSupports each alert investigation with appropriate analysis and documents investigation activities and conclusionsEscalates alerts requiring further investigation to appropriate global partnersMay interact with internal partners (e.g., relationship managers) in the course of investigations, as appropriateProvides additional support, functional and advanced subject matter knowledge as it relates to compliance with applicable AML laws, rules and standardsRecognizes the highly sensitive nature of investigation activities and maintains confidentialityFacilitates discussions and reach decisions independently; consults with management as necessaryMay perform additional responsibilities, participate with special projects, etc., as requested by managementCreates and deliver data reporting to various stakeholdersServes as a key subject matter expert and mentor Analyst level employeesSolves problems in straightforward situationsAnalyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedentsImpacts quality of own work and the work of others on the teamWorks within guidelines and policies


Knowledge:

Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skillsRequires excellent oral and written communication skillsRequires functional / industry knowledgeTechnical skills and knowledge of transaction monitoring systems (e.g., Actimize) is preferredApplies strong time management and organizational skills to work a large queue of alertsCAMS certification desired but not requiredRequires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job disciplineUnderstands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own workExplains complex information to others in straightforward situations


Experience:

At least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalentAt least 3 years of related experience
