SR ANALYST, FP&A

Responsible for developing and regularly maintaining restaurant level financial models for business decision making; performing complex financial and non-financial analyses of company and franchise performance, including modeling company and franchise financials and KPIs, investment alternatives and assessment of various company and franchise operations tactics. Responsible 

for preparing findings, presenting concise and logical conclusions and providing advice to management on analytical techniques, financial analysis, and project results, with an expectation of spearheading cross-functional collaboration as needed to obtain all necessary inputs. Responsible for supporting due diligence reporting needs. Position additionally fulfills an integral role of 

participating in creating and reporting the annual budget and quarterly forecast covering the entirety of the three financial statements. 


KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Designs and develops complex financial models to accurately reflect and assess company and franchise performance with alternative assumptions and scenarios, including modeling of sales and margins, capital investment, cash flow, balance sheet, share buyback, debt structure, P/E multiple, subsidiary acquisition, and other variables. Modifies and maintains 

computer models to reflect business changes, management decisions, and market impacts. Conducts cost analysis associated with large scale capital investments; including assessment of costs and benefits, returns, and implementation. Identifies opportunities for improving analysis processes and procedures; provides input and expertise in the development of systems, procedures, and controls. 


Participates/leads corporate and/or field forecast and budgeting processes, including; gathering, researching and documenting driving assumptions; performing complex modeling by testing and analyzing with various scenarios and assumptions. Performs restaurant level financial analysis, proforma and cash flow projections. Tracks trends in various P&L accounts, researches and explains variances to budget and forecast. Participates in preparation of all related board of director materials. 


Performs financial and non-financial analyses of company and franchise operations tactics and programs, assesses their impact on various levels of the business, including costs and profit margin. Provides interpretation of financial and statistical data and results to senior management. Prepares and presents findings that may impact the strategic decision-making process. 


Participates in the development of alternative measures for performance thresholds, including lagging and leading indicators. Analyzes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as they relate to overall brand and operational execution, correlation with other metrics and performance projections. Develops tracking techniques and reports to pinpoint trends and alerts management as early as possible. Develops applicable data analysis approaches and standard methodologies. 


Works with cross-functional business and technical teams, Project Managers and external consultants such as the Hyperion Planning Implementation Lead to define the right solution for the problem at hand; helps guide and lead financial data governance processes including hierarchy creation, definition and maintenance; coordinates and manages implementation of changes to Hyperion applications. 


Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed. 


QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. 

Experience – Minimum of 4 years of related, advanced financial analysis experience, with an emphasis in developing complex financial models. Minimum of 3 years strong business financial planning and forecasting experience required including experience in identifying, writing, and prioritizing business requirements. 


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - Excellent and persuasive oral and written English communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Broad knowledge of financial concepts and techniques. Strong personal computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Financial Planning applications such as Hyperion, and Business Intelligence applications such as Tableau. 

Advanced Excel skills including modeling and analysis techniques required. Strong Understanding of Statistical principles. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Ability to transfer knowledge by coaching, training and mentoring. Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior. 

Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $84,800 - $120,800 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
