The role will provide expert guidance on company's non-income tax returns by examining accounts and records and computing tax liabilities according to applicable laws and regulations.
How you’ll make an impact:
• Tax Compliance
o Prepare and review indirect tax returns for selected entities in the JAPAC region applying specialized tax knowledge.
o Prepare related indirect tax records, tax account reconciliations and analyses for tax reporting.
o Professional support of local finance and AP teams in tax reporting including cross-JAPAC reconciliations.
o Drive effective communication with stakeholders using tax analytics and reconciliation.
• Tax Projects
o Assist with other indirect tax projects (foreign VAT/GST reclaim, tax legislation updates, tax research).
o Continuous improvement of indirect tax reporting processes embracing tax technology and tools.
• Tax Audits
o Support in responding to taxing authorities' information document requests, notices and inquiries.
• Other Tax Responsibilities
o Direct tax support.
What you'll need (Required):
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years' experience with indirect tax accounting and reporting required
• Overall knowledge of VAT and GST reporting principles
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles
What else we look for (Preferred):
• Experience working in SSC-type organization or larger accounting/tax consulting company preferred
• Expertise in tax technology software (e.g., Tax Engines), ERP (e.g., JDE) and other systems preferred
• Expertise and ability to collaborate others in one or more functional areas
• Ability to interact with internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations
• Ability to work in a global team environment including inter-departmental teams and key contact representing the department on projects
