We are seeking a detail-oriented 3D Product Validation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of new products within 3D applications. You will conduct comprehensive validation of new products, including the verification of meshes, models, textures, materials, metadata attributes, and product compatibility, using a Content Validation Script testing sheet. Your work will ensure that all products meet the required standards and specifications before they are incorporated into the final application.Key Responsibilities:
1) Mesh/Model Validation:
Perform quality assurance checks for 3D meshes and models within a 3D application, ensuring their dimensions, appearance, and accuracy match the product's reference imagery.
2) Material and Texture Validation:
Conduct quality assurance tests on 3D content materials, focusing on textures, glossiness, and other material properties, ensuring they align with the product's reference imagery.
3) Metadata Validation:
Thoroughly validate metadata attributes for new products, including product names, descriptions, thumbnails, and other textual fields, ensuring all information is accurate and properly formatted.
4) Compatibility Checks:
Validate the compatibility of new products with existing content based on the product order’s brief, including verifying that products are available as options where required.
5) Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the Data team to track the completeness of orders, identify issues, and communicate any test failures.
Provide detailed explanations and documentation on the rationale for any validation failures.
Assist in determining expected delivery dates for the completion of validation processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
1) Required Skills:
Proficiency in using 3D applications for product validation (such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, or similar software).
Strong knowledge of 3D mesh/geometry principles, including texture mapping, material properties (such as glossiness and reflectivity), and model validation.
Experience with metadata validation and managing textual content within 3D applications.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies between the product imagery and 3D content.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data, Design, Development).
Proficient in using Content Validation Scripts and other testing tools for structured validation processes.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
2) Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
Familiarity with the use of version control systems (e.g., Git) for asset management and tracking.
Knowledge of basic programming or scripting languages to automate and streamline testing procedures (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
Background in computer graphics, 3D modeling, or digital content creation.
Previous experience in QA for 3D content, especially in the context of product imagery and metadata validation.
3) Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Digital Media, Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications in 3D modeling, quality assurance, or related disciplines are a plus.
