Sr Analyst - Funding, Global Client Payments
What You'll Do The Sr Analyst, Funding, Global Client Payments position at Avalara is a critical role supporting funding operations on Avalara's Global Client Payments ("GCP") team. You will manage the accurate application and reporting of customer funds received, ACH returned items, and notifications of change. You will also be responsible for preparation and distribution of customer reporting. We are looking for strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and work through problems independently. What Your Responsibilities Will Be Perform daily reconciliation of customer funds received, addressing exception items and applying the funds to customer accounts accurately and timely. Update business unit specific Do Not Pay ("DNP") lists accurately and timely Monitor and report on returned ACH items and notifications of change. Prepare and disseminate monthly customer reporting. Provide monthly funding analytics identifying unusual fluctuations or balances. Support audit requirement on a quarterly and annual basis. Provide support for daily general ledger entries and reconciliations relating to settlement of daily funds. Special projects as assigned What You'll Need to be Successful Qualifications: Education – Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or other four-year degree with equivalent experience / MBA in Finance (preferably) Technical Skills: Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently yet still function as a team player Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict deadlines Ability to learn and adapt to different software applications and tools Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel (functions include power pivot, vlookup, xlookup, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in accounting or finance Experience automation, data analytics, or data visualization tools (PowerBI, Infogix, PowerAutomate) Soft Skills: Must-Have: Very good written / oral language skills in English Ability to interact professionally with employees and customers. Experience in working with onsite teams. Work collaboratively with willingness to listen and work in fast paced challenging environment. Adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving capabilities. Good-to-Have (Added advantage): Experience with Product-based company. Experience with SaaS-based solutions.
